Daytime Emmys 2022: Top Winners

General Hospital was the leading winner at the 49th annual Daytime Emmys on Friday night, taking five prizes, including daytime drama, as the show reverted to a live, in-person event. The gathering was imperiled by the day’s news, which included the overturning of Roe v. Wade and an assault on women’s rights by a rogue Supreme Court. However, the two-hour broadcast, anchored for the first time by Entertainment Tonight hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, began without a hitch from the Pasadena Convention Center.

Daytime Emmy nominations for General Hospital include supporting actor, supporting actress, young talent, and directing. With five victories, ABC became the night’s overall network leader because of the GH haul. Overall, the series won with six wins. GH is the most-awarded daytime drama series in history, with a number of 15 awards received.

In the meantime, The Kelly Clarkson Show was a repeat winner for best entertainment talk show, with Clarkson winning as host, increasing its total spanning two weekends to seven, the highest of any show this year. Also, Entertainment Tonight was named the best entertainment news programme.

Mishael Morgan’s win

Among the significant winners was Mishael Morgan of The Young and the Restless, who became the first Black winner in the lead actress category. In a statement she said that folks are shattering glass ceilings left, right, and center. They can and will achieve equality and togetherness by working together.

Morgan was one of several first-time Emmy winners this year with the awards of lead actor ( in The Bold and the Beautiful’s” John McCook), supporting actor (in GH’s Jeff Kober), supporting actress (in GH’s Kelly Thiebaud), and younger performer (in GH’s Nicholas Chavez) were all first-time winners.

The Jeopardy

Furthermore, despite the show’s rocky final year which saw executive producer Mike Richards, who had been designated host of the show as Alex Trebek’s replacement, ousted after a week owing to previous statements and controversial acts, “Jeopardy” continued its record as the top game show winner.

The controversy was the difficult months as executive producer Michael Davies said backstage. But it demonstrated the power of our audience and how deeply our fans care about the programme which is crucial. What Matt Amodio, Amy Schneider, Mattea, and Ryan have done this season has truly represented how amazing the game is. Mayim and Ken, our show’s headliners, have done an outstanding job hosting.

The announcement is said to be made very soon. But, with all of the ambitions for ‘Jeopardy!,’ which is more ‘Jeopardy,’ not less, more variations, there will be a need for several hosts to reflect the entire audience, the entire country, in order to move this franchise forward.

Previously, on 18th of june, the Pasadena Convention Center hosted the 49th Annual Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy Awards. Kelly Clarkson was awarded five awards, while Penguin Town was awarded three. Aside from syndication (which earned eleven accolades), Netflix was the big winner, taking home nine honors for Penguin Town, Cat People, Headspace: Guide to Meditation, and You vs. Wild: Out Cold. With three apiece, CBS and PBS tied for third place.
