Fortnite Crosses Over with Suicide Squad, Featuring Bloodsport

Date:

Fortnite Update: Fortnite Crosses Over with Suicide Squad, Featuring Bloodsport. Idris Elba’s character will be cast alongside Harley Quinn and The Joker. To commemorate the premiere of The Suicide Squad this weekend, Fortnite is launching a Bloodsport skin from the film.

Fortnite fans can look forward to the DC character entering the battle royale game shortly, as confirmed by The Suicide Squad director James Gunn, with a bit of help from Bloodsport himself, Idris Elba.

We see Bloodsport causing havoc on the Fortnite island, taking zip lines, and shooting rocket launchers in the video, which appears to suit his mood from the trailers. According to Elba, Bloodsport is coming to the island shortly; the video concludes with a tease that we’ll learn more about The Suicide Squad’s Fortnite tie-in on Thursday.

Bloodsport has an appropriately frightening appearance, resembling a football player with a xenomorph’s face. It’s essentially the same appearance Elba will wear in the film when he’s not unmasked to show off his criminally, cruelly, and unjustifiably gorgeous mug.

There is also a Fortnite/DC crossover comic book called Batman/Fortnite: Zero that is presently being released, in which Batman accidentally ends up in the world of Fortnite. As he tries to make sense of his new reality and return to Gotham City, the gloomy vigilante confronts numerous Fortnite regulars in the comics, like Renegade Raider, Fishstick, Bandolier, and others.

The Suicide Squad is set to hit theatres on July 30 and stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag.

Fortnite Update: The new film is not a sequel or a reboot, but rather a solo film with only slight allusions to the previous film from 2016. This means that instead of The Joker or Deadshot, we’ll be introduced to Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, John Cena’s Peacemaker (who will get his own HBO Max program), Pete Davidson’s Blackguard, and, a little more unexpectedly, Sylvester Stallone’s King Shark.

This is also pure guesswork, but it appears like Elba’s Twitter header image is a stylized Fortnite version of his face.

Anyway, according to the teaser trailer, we’ll find out more today on Thursday, the 29th.

Given Fortnite’s existing partnership with DC, I wouldn’t be shocked to see a fourth Harley Quinn skin. Peacemaker as played by John Cena, a “douchey Captain America,” Colonel Rick Flagg, or my personal favorite, King Shark. I only hope it’s the Harley Quinn version from the HBO series, as portrayed by Ron Funches.
