The English side is set to lock horns with the Aussies in what can be a series decider if the Aussies maintain their record from the previous two matches. Bairstow’s controversial dismissal has sparked a debate in the cricketing fraternity, further fueling the already heightened emotions on both sides. UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had his say on the dismissal. His spokesperson said that the Kangaroo’s behavior in the second test involving the controversial release was not exemplary by any stretch of the imagination and that they should have portrayed sportsman spirit. Broad said he was shocked that no senior players in the Australian team protested the decision.
On the other hand, Pat Cummins advised the English team to focus on the areas they are lacking. He said he would gladly have walked off if he were in the opposing shoes. Cummins blamed a lack of match awareness for the dismissal rather than a lack of sportsmanship. He said his side was ready for the heat they would face on Thursday. Cummins said they are more than prepared to deal with the chants and will try their best to rise above it.
English Side
KP said at the end of Day 3 that the display from the English bowlers was shambolic. He said they lack intent and fire, necessary ingredients for playing Ashes Cricket. The fact that Warner and Khwaja were waiting for the English to come down to resume play for session three was deemed an alarming sign by the former English batter. However, England is set to make three changes to their bowling lineup for the 3rd test. Chris Woakes and Tongue will replace James Anderson with Wood. Moeen Ali will come in for Ollie Pope. Adding Wood adds that extra pace to the English bowling lineup that needed to be added to the bowling lineup. However, His fitness is something people need to be 100 percent confident about. Woakes can be a lethal bowler with the new cherry in hand. However, with a bowling average of 46 against the arch-rivals, his record is one thing that he might strive to change for good. Moeen Ali is coming back from an injury.
Stokes has clearly stated that they will continue with the Bazball and that the two losses have nothing to do with Bazball not pulling it off for them. He said they needed to improve the execution of plans. Having said this, the English side hopes they will make a return at Headingley.
Australia
The Aussies have everything sorted out. Their opening duo are putting on a good show. Smith is doing what he does best. Travis Head is having an Ashes to remember. Starc has done what he was brought back to do. Only Marnus is going through a purple patch which is a slight worry for the Kangaroos. Apart from that, they have everything cut out and are more than ready to retain the Ashes. The abuse they received from the members of the MCC after the events of the second test can fuel them. After All, this is what their DNA is all about.
