The former presenter of the famous TV show Blue’s Clues realizes that he owns his fans an explanation for his abrupt departure. The moment could not have been any better than Blue’s Clues’ silver anniversary to share the clue behind his exit. Yes, the show started on 8 September 1996 and is a quarter of a century old today. And after 25 years, Steve finally returned to have a word with his beloved fans through Nick Jr.’s Twitter account on Tuesday, the 7th of September 2021.
Steve Burns, who played the role of Steve in the aforementioned show in which a puppy named Blue left clues had left the show after the first four seasons and handed over the duties to his brother Joe. The only clue his fans ever got was that he ‘went to college’. But no one ever provided a detailed explanation on his return, although he did make a few special appearances in the show.
Dressed in a polo shirt with a modern green striped pattern, Steve politely requests a few moments of his fans’ time. He has something special to say today. He won’t just give a clue but explain how it has been over the years.
“You remember how when we were younger, we used to run around and hang out with Blue and find clues and talk to Mr. Salt and freak out about the mail and do all the fun stuff?” He brings forth a flood of our childhood relics.
“And then one day, I was like, ‘Oh hey, guess what? Big news, I’m leaving. Here’s my brother Joe, he’s your new best friend,’ and then I got on a bus and I left, and we didn’t see each other for like a really long time? Can we just talk about that? Because I realize that was kind of abrupt.” He boldly admits.
He went on to explain that he left to pursue his higher studies and faced a lot of challenges. The hurdles, however, only strengthened his caliber. They enabled him to use his mind and take a step at a time.
“I literally am doing many of the things that I wanted to do.” He reassures.
The viewers, however, landed in an emotional uproar when he addressed them directly and praised their accomplishments and how much they have all grown “And then look at you, and look at all you have done, and all you have accomplished in all that time. And it’s just, it’s just so amazing, right?”
“I mean, we started out with clues, and now, it’s what? Student loans, and jobs, and families? And some of it has been kind of hard, you know? I know you know.” He empathized with his fans.
He concluded his monologue by thanking his followers for their support and assured them that they would always be remembered.
“I wanted to tell you that I really couldn’t have done all of that without your help. And in fact, all the help that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today, right now. And that’s super cool,” Steve stated.
“I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years, I never forgot you. Ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends.”
Burns’s sudden departure had caused a parked flurry of speculations. Some even went to the extent of hypothesizing that he died due to a drug overdose. However, His recent video has made everything crystal clear.
On social media, the video prompted a rush of emotional commemorations. Everyone started chatting about how much his program had influenced their upbringings and how much they loved him. Burns’ admirers were overjoyed to discover that he felt compelled to justify his conduct.
