Lionel Messi Makes PSG Debut in 2-0 Victory vs Reims. Messi looked well as he entered the game, but he was unable to score in his debut. But PSG supporters just got a taste of what’s to come from the world’s best footballer. Kylian Mbappe stole the show as Paris St Germain maintained their perfect start to the season by beating Stade de Reims 2-0.

Since Messi signed a two-year deal with Barcelona, Real Madrid has been interested in signing Mbappe from PSG. With a maximum of 12 points, PSG leads the rankings.

Mbappe’s contract expires next summer, PSG might be left holding the bag. To sign the World Cup champion before the transfer window, which ends on Tuesday, Real Madrid is seeking to make a mega-money deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

Several times throughout the first half, the cameras showed Messi sitting on the subs bench. A few of his former Barcelona colleagues, including Ander Herrera, were spotted chatting with the 34-year-old.

The Auguste Delaune stadium sold all 20,545 tickets for Messi’s appearance. Supporters, who shouted his name throughout the game, were rewarded in the 66th minute when he replaced the disappointing Neymar.

Lionel Messi: Just two days before the window closed on January 31st, the 22-year-quickness old’s and sense of time made all the difference. Angel Di Maria crossed for Mbappe to go home after 15 minutes. Moreto Cassama’s stunning effort hit Keylor Navas’s crossbar three minutes before the interval as PSG became complacent.

Marshall Munetsi appeared to have equalized for Reims five minutes into the second half, but his attempt was ruled out for offside.

Reims fans applauded as Messi began warming up after 57 minutes, and he saluted them as he did so. After Mbappe had increased PSG’s lead from Achraf Hakimi’s cross at the conclusion of a swift counterattack, they sang his name as he was ready to enter the pitch. Mbappe was the only player to combine with the Argentinian, who had not played since winning the Copa America with his country on July 10th.

Lille began their championship defense with a 2-1 home win over Montpellier, while Angers stunned Stade Rennes 2-0 to go into second place with 10 points. Yusuf Yazici and Jonathan David scored to give Lille their first league victory of the season. After Junior Sambia was sent off late in the second half, Montpellier finished the match with ten men.

Clermont Foot, newly promoted, maintained their undefeated record intact with a 2-2 home tie with Metz. With eight points from their first four matches, they are now ranked third.
