Kanye West is Dissatisfied with the Release of his new Album, Donda. Donda was added to streaming sites within a few hours after it was released. The 44-year-old rapper and fashion magnate alleged on social media on Sunday morning (Aug. 29) that Universal Music Group, the parent company of Def Jam Recordings, published the long-awaited album without his consent.
West posted in all capitals on Instagram, “UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM.”
Def Jam has been contacted by Billboard for comment.
When the album first went up on streaming sites on Sunday morning, the Donda single “Jail pt 2,” featuring DaBaby, was missing, but it became available later that afternoon. West provided pictures of text exchanges stating that the music was being held up due to clearance difficulties with DaBaby in a now-deleted Instagram post from early Sunday.

On Sunday, fans were thrilled to discover that Jay’s verse from the original “Jail” had been restored.
Following his first large-scale listening session inside Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium, Kanye’s 10th album, Donda, was set to be released on July 23 via G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam, however, the project was delayed numerous times. Donda is the rapper’s eighth studio album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was named for his mother, who passed away in 2007.
The Weeknd and Lil Baby (“Hurricane”), Travis Scott (“Praise God”), Young Thug and Pop Smoke (“Tell the Vision”), Kid Cudi (“Moon”), Pusha T, Roddy Ricch, and Ariana Grande (“Donda”), and others are among the high-profile collaborations on Donda.
