Joey Jordison Dead: Joey Jordison, Slipknot Co-Founder and Drummer, Dies at 46.”Slipknot” burst onto the scene in Des Moines, Iowa, in the early 1990s, wearing masks and performing a style of music that was exceptionally violent for the genre. In addition to being a highly visible member of the band, Jordison co-wrote several of their songs. As a member of the band since 1995, he left at the end of last year. Jordison stated he did not quit the band voluntarily.

Several of Slipknot’s songs were co-written by Jordison.

“Duality” was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the Grammys in 2005. Platinum certification for at least 100,000 units was awarded to four more long-form videos during 1999-2010.

Joey Jordison Dead: Roadrunner Records released Slipknot’s self-titled debut album in 1999, launching the band onto the national metal scene. A chaotic live act fuelled Slipknot’s fame. The Band from Des Moines, Iowa, played the second stage at Ozzfest in 1999 and headlined the Tattoo the Earth event the following year. On the 2001 Ozzfest trip, it was the second act on the lineup, following Black Sabbath.

“Scar The Martyr” was Jordison’s first band after he left Slipknot. He also played guitar for the metal band Murderdolls. As of 2016, he was a member of the extreme heavy-metal supergroup band Sinsaenum, which performs a kind of blackened death metal.

He was chosen the top drummer of the past quarter-century by UK drum magazine Rhythm subscribers in 2010.

The Pale Ones’ Nathan Jordison was born on April 26, 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa. Slipknot would be born out of the group.

“Murderdolls” was a side project of Jordison’s in Los Angeles in 2002. Billboard peaked at No. 102 with their first Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, while their second album, Women and Children Last, peaked at No. 43.

‘Slipknot’ drummer Joey Jordison died yesterday, his family announced in a statement he died “peacefully in his sleep.” He was 46 years old when he died.

“We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2021. He was 46,” the statement reads. “Joey’s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow. To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time. The family will hold a private funeral service and asks the media and public to respect their wishes.”
