Russia’s military drill with China and India

The army uses its resources during military drills to prepare for war-like situations. It should be remembered that this is not a real war, and it is a practice rehearsal. They test their strategies without actual combat. Similarly, Russia, China, and India have started drilling. This Vostok 2022 drills launch such drills in collaboration with chia, India, Russia, and Syria. The Vostok 2022 drills began during the total Russian war against Ukraine.

Russian army 

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are generally called the Russian armed forces. This army is the largest military in terms of military force. It has two million reserved personnel. The chief of the army’s general staff is general Varley Gerasimov. 

China’s army 

The People’s Liberation Army is the largest principal military force of the People’s republic army of china, and it is also the armed wing of the Chinese communist party. It consists of five service branches. These are;

  • The ground force 
  • Navy 
  • Air force 
  • Strategic support force
  • Rocket force 

Indian Army 

The Indian army is the land-based branch and the most significant component of the Indian army. The president of India is the supreme commander of the Indian army. General Manoj Pande is the army chief of the Indian army.

Where and when

This drill started on September 1 and will last long till September 7. According to the Russian defense minister, they are to be held at seven fairing ranges in eastern Serbia, Russia’s far east, and the sea of japan. 

Who is involved?

In this drill, 5000 weapon units include 140 air crafts and 60 warships, and three are 50,000 troops involved. Several ex-Soviet nations include China, Russia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, and Syria. Russian general chief staff general Valery Gerasimov will personally oversee the drills. 

What is the aim?

Other than this, the navies of China and Russia will practice in the sea of japan. This joint exercise is arranged to practice to protect sea communication, area of marine economic activity, and support ground troops in littoral regions.  

Previous joint drills

The Vostok drill is the second drill between Russia and China troops this year. In May, bombers of both countries conducted this drill that lasted more than 13 hours, and it was conducted close to Japan and South Korea. 

When Russia and China held joint military exercises last year, 10,000 troops participated in this exercise, which was held in north central china.

Russia waged war upon Ukraine on 24 February 2022. This invasion had caused the largest refugee crisis in Europe since world war 2. More than 7.1 million people Ukrainians flee from the war-stricken country. Due to this war, there is a political disturbance in the world. Above all, these drills are causing more concerns about world affairs, otherwise, military drills are common in routine programs.
